The Siege of Rhodes

 19.49  15.94

As talked about on this website under the history section, this wonderful book takes you through the siege of Rhodes between The Knights Of Saint John and The Ottoman Empire.

By the time of the early 16th Century, the Knights were effectively dealing with the threats from Pirates and were offering aid and solitude to the sick and feeble Christians.

Causing anger and unrest, this lead to Suleiman The Magnificent launching an assault on Rhodes and he sent one hundred thousand soldiers to besiege the island.

The resistance of The Knights was only 600 men strong along with 3000 who were native to the island and 1500 mercenaries.

This narrative offers a wonderful insight into the courage held by Rhodes, regardless of the crushing odds against them!

A really wonderful book and a great insight into one of the most important Knights Orders in history!
